Mark Carney, the Prime Minister, is set to join the star-studded guest lineup at the Junos this Sunday at Hamilton’s TD Coliseum.
Among the notable attendees are Joni Mitchell, who will be honored with a lifetime achievement award, and Nelly Furtado, who is poised to be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
A tribute performance for Mitchell will be delivered by Sarah McLachlan and Allison Russell, while a musical celebration of Furtado’s career will feature Alessia Cara, Jully Black, Shawn Desman, and Tanya Tagaq.
Notably absent from the event are top nominees like Justin Bieber, Tate McRae, and The Weeknd.
The Junos, with comedian-turned-musician Mae Martin as the host, will be broadcast on CBC TV, CBC Gem, and other CBC platforms at 8 p.m. ET this Sunday.
