A special event took place at Olympic Heights Elementary School in Calgary as Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton unveiled their Milano-Cortina squad in front of a captivated audience of grade-schoolers. The young students were attentive and well-behaved, showing excitement as each new team member appeared to receive their official Team Canada jacket.

The squad consists of a mix of experienced athletes and promising newcomers. Dawn Richardson-Wilson, a former sprinter, brings her exceptional speed to the team. Luka Stoikos, a former football standout, impresses with his powerful build and quick acceleration. Additionally, Kelsey Mitchell, a gold medalist in sprint cycling, has transitioned to bobsled and made the Olympic team in her debut season.

The team announcement was met with enthusiastic cheers, highlighting the anticipation surrounding the upcoming competitions in Cortina, Italy. Despite financial challenges facing Team Canada this season, the athletes and staff are confident in their abilities and are determined to compete for top honors on the global stage.

The current financial constraints have forced Team Canada to use older equipment, purchased from other bobsled programs. This situation poses a significant hurdle for the team in their pursuit of success against well-funded competitors like Team Germany, known for their cutting-edge technology and dominant performances.

As the athletes prepare for the upcoming Olympics, they are focused on maximizing their potential and overcoming the obstacles in their path. With a strong roster of talented individuals and a commitment to excellence, Team Canada remains optimistic about their chances in Milano-Cortina and beyond.
