Bad Bunny made history at the 68th annual Grammy Awards by becoming the first Latin artist to win the prestigious album of the year award for his album titled DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS. The Puerto Rican singer, set to perform at the upcoming Super Bowl half-time show, triumphed over a notable list of contenders including Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, and Lady Gaga, among others.
Kendrick Lamar also had a standout night, securing five Grammy wins, including record of the year for his collaboration with SZA on the track luther. With these wins, Lamar has now surpassed Jay-Z as the most awarded rapper in Grammy history, boasting a total of 27 wins.
Lady Gaga was another big winner of the evening, taking home four Grammys for her album Mayhem and hit single Abracadabra, which earned her accolades in categories such as best pop vocal album and best dance pop recording.
Other notable winners included Billie Eilish for song of the year with WILDFLOWER, Olivia Dean for best new artist, and Joni Mitchell for best historical album with Joni Mitchell Archives, Volume 4: The Asylum Years — 1976-1980.
The Grammy ceremony was also a success for Canada, as Lady Gaga’s producer Cirkut, a Canadian native, received two awards, including producer of the year, non-classical.
