Canadians have received several nominations for the Actor Awards, which recognize outstanding performances in Hollywood films and television/streaming shows. The nominations were revealed by actors Connor Storrie from “Heated Rivalry” and Janelle James from “Abbott Elementary.”

Seth Rogen and Catherine O’Hara are contenders for best leading performances in their respective categories in the series “The Studio” on Apple TV. Another nominee in the leading actor category is Martin Short for his role in “Only Murders in the Building” on Hulu.

Both “The Studio” and “Only Murders in the Building” are also in the running for best ensemble performances in a comedy series. The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on Netflix from Los Angeles on March 1.

In the movie categories, the film “One Battle After Another” has garnered a record seven nominations, leading the pack. It is competing against other films like “Frankenstein,” “Hamnet,” “Marty Supreme,” and “Sinners” for the best cast performance in a motion picture.

The principal cast members of “One Battle After Another” received individual acting nominations. Notable nominees include Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Michael B. Jordan, Ethan Hawke, and Jesse Plemons for best actor in leading roles.

Chase Infiniti, who plays DiCaprio’s daughter in the film, is nominated for best actress along with other talented nominees. Supporting actor and actress categories also feature strong contenders from the film.

Despite its acclaim, the Norwegian drama “Sentimental Value” did not receive any nominations in the film categories, leaving out potential winners like Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgård.

“The Studio” leads in the series categories with the most nominations for a TV or streaming series. The show has been successful in various award ceremonies and continues to receive recognition.

Other series like “Abbott Elementary,” “The Bear,” “Hacks,” and “Only Murders in the Building” are also vying for outstanding ensemble awards in the comedy series category. In the drama field, “The White Lotus” secured the most nominations and is competing against other notable shows.

Overall, the Actor Awards nominations have set the stage for an exciting event that will showcase the best talent in the industry.
