Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers has been penalized $2,500 USD for slashing Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid, as confirmed by the NHL Department of Safety on Sunday. The incident took place at 8:25 of the third period during the Canucks’ 3-1 defeat against the Oilers on Saturday night. Myers was observed making contact with McDavid in the groin region with his stick as McDavid advanced towards the net without possession of the puck. Although no penalty was initially assessed, Myers was eventually penalized for delay of game at 9:07 of the same period.
