Cloudflare, an internet infrastructure company, announced an investigation into a recent outage that occurred in the morning, impacting various global websites like LinkedIn and Zoom. This incident marked the second crash within three weeks for Cloudflare. The company confirmed the issue has been resolved and stated that they are looking into problems with the Cloudflare Dashboard and associated APIs that facilitate communication between software systems.

Cloudflare clarified that the outage was not the result of an attack. They attributed the network unavailability to a modification in their firewall’s request handling process, which disrupted services for a few minutes. Users on X platform also faced difficulties accessing the website during this time.

Notably, a Cloudflare outage in November affected users of diverse services, including ChatGPT, the online game “League of Legends,” and the New Jersey Transit system. In a separate incident last month, Microsoft had to address an outage in their Azure cloud portal that prevented users from accessing Office 365, Minecraft, and other services. The company explained that a configuration change in their Azure infrastructure caused this disruption.

Furthermore, Amazon encountered a significant outage of its cloud computing service in October. These incidents underscore the importance of robust infrastructure and continuous monitoring in today’s digital landscape.
