Five members of the Toronto Blue Jays have been selected as finalists for the prestigious Gold Glove awards this season, which are presented annually by Major League Baseball to recognize the top defensive players in each position across both leagues. Ernie Clement has received nominations in two categories, being recognized as one of the three finalists for the American League’s third base and utility positions.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Ty France, who was acquired by Toronto from Minnesota during the trade deadline, are in the running for the AL’s first-base Gold Glove. Additionally, second baseman Andres Gimenez and catcher Alejandro Kirk have also been named as finalists for the award.
Gimenez has previously clinched the AL Gold Glove in the second base position in the past three seasons while playing for the Cleveland Guardians. Guerrero secured the AL first-base accolade in the year 2022. The winners of the Gold Glove awards will be unveiled on November 2.
