Kelly Pannek netted two goals, while Nicole Hensley secured a shutout in the Minnesota Frost’s 3-0 victory over the Seattle Torrent, disappointing a record-breaking women’s hockey crowd on Friday. The game drew 16,014 spectators, setting a new attendance record for a women’s hockey match in a U.S. arena. Pannek capitalized on a rebound in the first period and later sealed her second goal in the third period, with Grace Zumwinkle contributing a power play goal.

Hensley made 30 saves for the Frost, while Corinne Schroeder, the goalie for the Torrent, stopped 22 shots. Schroeder, who topped the league last season with four shutouts playing for the New York Sirens, put up a strong defense for the Torrent. Both teams had two power play opportunities during the game.

In the next matches, Minnesota will face Ottawa on Tuesday, while Seattle will host New York on Wednesday.
