A man has been taken into custody following the death of a woman in what authorities are describing as a case of domestic violence, marking the city’s fourth homicide of the year. The 29-year-old suspect, identified as Daniel Nathaniel Assing, has been charged with first-degree murder.
Law enforcement officers apprehended the man after observing him driving recklessly near the intersection of Chatham Street East and Goyeau Street. During the arrest for dangerous driving, officers noticed significant dried blood on the man’s face and body. Subsequent investigation led the police to a residence on Langlois Avenue, where they discovered a 26-year-old woman without vital signs. The victim, who had sustained multiple stab wounds, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
This incident marks the fourth homicide in Windsor this year, with authorities refraining from divulging further information at this stage.
