In the other semifinal match at the tournament held in Dawson Creek, B.C., the United States, who previously defeated Canada 3-2 in the round-robin stage, dominated China with a 13-2 win. The championship showdown is scheduled for Saturday at 9 p.m. ET.
James Dunn also made significant contributions with two goals and two assists for Canada in the game against the Czech Republic, while Corbin Watson secured a shutout with 12 saves. Patrik Sedlacek made 31 saves for the Czech team. The Czech Republic will now face China for the bronze medal at 5 p.m. ET.
Cozzolino and Dunn’s goals in the first period, followed by additional goals in the second period, propelled Canada to a commanding 5-0 lead after 40 minutes, with Adam Dixon also finding the back of the net. Tyler McGregor and Vincent Boily sealed the victory with goals in the third period.
