Canadian snowboarder Kaylie Buck secured a silver medal at the Women’s Parallel Giant Slalom World Cup event held in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. Clocking in at one minute and 17.35 seconds, the Oakville, Ontario native put up a strong performance. Sabine Payer of Austria claimed the gold with a time of 1:15.99, outpacing Buck in the competition.
In the battle for the bronze, Czechia’s Zuzana Maderova finished ahead of Italy’s Jasmin Coratti, securing the third spot with times of 1:16.37 and 1:16.49, respectively.
This achievement marked a significant milestone for Kaylie Buck as she captured her first career World Cup snowboarding medal. The 25-year-old athlete had her best finish of the season, following her 23rd and 30th place finishes in the previous races.
