Renowned martial artist and iconic Hollywood action star Chuck Norris, famous for his role in “Walker, Texas Ranger,” passed away at the age of 86 in a sudden event, as confirmed by his family. In a statement released on Friday, the family expressed their sorrow over the unexpected loss of Chuck Norris, stating that he was with his loved ones and found peace in his final moments.
Prior to his successful acting career, Norris excelled in competitive martial arts, becoming a six-time undefeated World Professional Middleweight Karate champion. He established his unique Korean-based American karate style, known as chun kuk do, and founded the United Fighting Arts Federation, granting over 3,300 Chuck Norris System black belts globally. Recognized for his expertise, Norris was honored with a 10th-degree black belt by Black Belt magazine, the highest accolade in the martial arts world.
Born as Carlos Ray Norris on March 10, 1940, in Ryan, Oklahoma, Norris faced humble beginnings. After relocating to Torrance, California, at the age of 12, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1958, where he began training in martial arts during his service in Korea, focusing on disciplines like judo and tang soo do.
Following his honorable discharge in 1962, Norris pursued various endeavors, working as a file clerk for Northrop Aircraft and venturing into law enforcement while concurrently establishing a martial arts studio. His studio attracted notable students, including celebrities like Bob Barker, Priscilla Presley, and Steve McQueen, who encouraged Norris to venture into acting.
Making his debut in the film industry with an uncredited role in the 1968 movie “The Wrecking Crew,” Norris gained recognition for his martial arts skills and starred in numerous action films such as “Missing in Action,” “The Delta Force,” and “Sidekicks.” His most iconic television role came in 1993 when he portrayed a crime-fighting Texas Ranger in the long-running series “Walker, Texas Ranger.”
