Anil Mohabir expressed his surreal feelings following his recent collaboration with Drake to unveil the Toronto rapper’s latest music. Together, they orchestrated a mesmerizing display where an icy blue wave of light cascaded up the CN Tower, accompanied by a fireworks show illuminating downtown Toronto’s waterfront. This event marked the reveal of a triple-album drop at midnight, featuring the highly anticipated “Iceman” along with surprise releases “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour.”

Mohabir, the founder of Studio AM known for digital and technical visual design projects, received only three weeks’ notice from Drake’s creative production arm, DreamCrew, before embarking on this ambitious project. Coordinating with various teams and authorities, including the CN Tower’s lighting teams, Transport Canada, and the City of Toronto, Mohabir led a crew of around 300 individuals in executing the grand spectacle.

The visually stunning projection was brought to life using 75 projectors from Canada and overseas, strategically positioned across three locations, including the roof of CBC’s Toronto Broadcast Centre. Mohabir revealed that each projector carried a substantial price tag, with the total equipment value reaching an impressive $15 million.

Following the successful projection activation, Mohabir humorously mentioned that the reaction from everyone involved was one of astonishment. This event was preceded by a buzz-building livestream where Drake rode through the city in an “Iceman”-branded truck, adding to the series of attention-grabbing stunts leading up to the album release.

According to Mohabir, Drake and his team continuously prioritize showcasing Canadian creatives and strive to uplift the city as a whole. Mohabir, a native of Regent Park, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to realize innovative ideas and dreams at a high level through their collaboration with Drake.
