Legendary rock band Rush has teased an upcoming “special” event at the 2026 Juno Awards in Hamilton this Sunday. In a newsletter to fans, the band hinted at a celebration with Geddy & Alex, providing a link to purchase Junos tickets for March 29.
Last fall, Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson revealed plans for a 2026 tour, marking the band’s first public performance with drummer Anika Nilles, who replaced the late Neil Peart in 2020. Nilles, a renowned German drummer with a popular YouTube presence, previously toured with Jeff Beck in 2022, earning praise from Lee in a 2023 interview with the Guardian.
While no specifics were shared, if Rush takes the stage at the Junos, it will be the first opportunity for fans to witness the current lineup before their upcoming world tour, named Fifty Something, starting in Los Angeles in June and featuring multiple shows in Toronto, Vancouver, and Edmonton.
Established in Toronto in 1968, Rush has released 19 studio albums and garnered numerous accolades. Notably, the band has won 10 Juno Awards, including the first-ever Juno for best hard rock/metal album in 1991 for their album “Presto.” CBC Music has contacted Rush for additional insights.
