The Vancouver Whitecaps are set to face San Diego FC in California this Saturday for the Major League Soccer Western Conference final. Following San Diego FC’s victory over the Minnesota Loons in the conference semifinals, soccer fans who purchased tickets for a potential MLS playoff game at B.C. Place will receive refunds.
In a thrilling conference semifinal last weekend, the Whitecaps clinched a victory over Los Angeles FC in penalty shootouts, captivating a crowd of 54,000 at B.C. Place. This win propelled the Whitecaps to the Western Conference final against San Diego FC, the top team in the West during the regular season, or Minnesota, depending on the outcome of the Monday match.
Originally, tickets went on sale for a potential game against Minnesota at B.C. Place last Sunday. However, with San Diego now hosting the upcoming match on Saturday with a 6 p.m. PT kickoff, the winner will advance to the MLS championship on Dec. 6. The championship match will be against either Inter Miami CF or New York City FC, who will also play in the Eastern Conference final on the same day.
In case of a victory against San Diego, Vancouver will either host New York in the final or head to Miami, depending on the outcome of the Eastern Conference final. Ticketmaster has assured ticket holders that refunds for the potential Vancouver game on Saturday will be processed through the original payment method without requiring any action from the fans.
