Israel announced on Monday that the Israeli military received another deceased hostage’s body from Gaza through the Red Cross, as stated by the Israeli prime minister’s office. This brings the total number of remaining hostages’ bodies in Gaza to 12. Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, has faced challenges in locating the bodies amidst the rubble left by the conflict.
The recovery and transfer of deceased hostages’ bodies in Gaza have posed difficulties for U.S. President Donald Trump’s Gaza initiative. A spokesperson from the Israeli government mentioned that the militant group is aware of the bodies’ whereabouts.
To aid in the search efforts, Israel permitted an Egyptian technical team to collaborate with the Red Cross to locate the bodies. The team will utilize excavator machines and trucks for the search operation beyond the designated yellow line in Gaza, where Israeli troops initially withdrew under Trump’s plan.
