Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau made a public appearance together at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on Monday night, showcasing their affection for each other in front of cameras. The renowned pop star and former prime minister were seen engaging in tender gestures and touching foreheads lovingly at the premiere of Perry’s concert film, “Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris.”
Despite their intimate display, both Perry and Trudeau opted for more conservative attire for the event. Perry wore a white halter gown with Grecian influences adorned with rose details, while Trudeau sported a classic black suit paired with an open-collar white shirt.
Trudeau openly expressed his admiration for Perry to the press, jokingly mentioning that despite watching her show three times before, he had been solely focused on her and was now looking forward to enjoying the performance for the first time. The relationship between the 54-year-old Trudeau and the 41-year-old “California Gurls” singer first made headlines in July when they were seen walking together in Montreal’s Mount Royal Park with Perry’s dog, followed by a dinner outing.
This public outing came shortly after Perry and her then-fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom, announced their separation after seven years together, during which they welcomed a daughter. The relationship between Perry and Trudeau became more evident when photos of them embracing on Perry’s yacht in Santa Barbara surfaced in early October, further solidifying their connection when Perry shared images of their time together on social media during Trudeau’s visit to Japan.
The couple has since been seen together at various events, including an exclusive Netflix screening party and Coachella. Trudeau, who resigned as prime minister in March 2025, was previously married to Sophie Gregoire, with whom he shared an 18-year relationship and three children before announcing their separation in the summer of 2023.
Trudeau’s eldest son, Xavier, who aspires to be a musician, revealed on the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast that he seeks feedback from Perry on his music, sending her songs for critique and advice.
