The 29-year-old was discovered deceased in his Nashville residence during a welfare check conducted by authorities on Thursday, as reported by the Metro Nashville Police Department. While the exact cause of death remains unknown, there is no suspicion of foul play, and an autopsy is scheduled to determine the circumstances.
Known professionally as Tay Keith, born Brytavious Chambers, he collaborated with renowned artists such as Drake, Beyoncé, Lil Nas X, and Eminem. At the age of 23, he received his first Grammy nomination in 2019 for his contribution to Travis Scott’s track “Sicko Mode.” Subsequently, he was nominated again in 2024 for his work on Drake and 21 Savage’s “Rich Flex.” Notably, he was recognized on the Forbes “30 under 30 music” list in the previous year.
Various figures within the music industry, including Memphis music producer Hitkidd and DJ Scheme from Florida, have paid tribute to Keith following his untimely passing. Among them, Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB, who shared a broken-heart emoji on his Instagram story, expressed his shock and sadness, stating, “We talked every day, you didn’t mention you were leaving.”
