The Ottawa Redblacks have relieved head coach Bob Dyce of his duties following the team’s sixth consecutive loss to end the season. This decision came after Ottawa’s 35-15 defeat against Hamilton, which led to the team missing the CFL playoffs for the fifth time since their appearance in the 2018 Grey Cup.
Bob Dyce had been part of the Redblacks since 2016, initially serving as the special-teams coordinator before transitioning to the head coaching role in 2022. Despite guiding Ottawa to a 9-8-1 record and securing their first playoff spot in five years last season, the team struggled this year, finishing with a 4-14 record under his leadership. Dyce’s overall head coaching record stands at 18-39-1.
General manager Shawn Burke expressed the challenges of the decision, acknowledging Dyce’s dedication and hard work during his tenure with the team.
