One person out of the four individuals who were hospitalized following a fire in Winnipeg’s Transcona area over the weekend has passed away. According to police reports released on Monday, an 18-year-old male victim succumbed to his injuries.

The incident took place at a residence on Yale Avenue W., situated west of Bond Street, around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, prompting a response from fire crews. While three individuals had managed to escape before the arrival of emergency services and were taken to the hospital in stable condition, the 18-year-old was rescued by firefighters and transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The investigation into the fire is ongoing, with authorities yet to determine the cause of the blaze or press any charges in relation to the incident.
