The Buffalo Bills have chosen to promote their offensive coordinator, Joe Brady, to the position of head coach, ensuring continuity for the team led by quarterback Josh Allen. Brady, 36, has been with the Bills for four seasons and served as the offensive coordinator for the past two years. He stepped into the role after Ken Dorsey’s departure in the middle of the 2023 season. This move follows the recent dismissal of Sean McDermott after his nine-year tenure.

Despite lacking previous head coaching experience in his eight NFL seasons, Brady’s football journey began with the New Orleans Saints under Sean Payton before joining LSU’s national championship team as the passing game coordinator in 2019. Known as a rising coaching prospect, Brady briefly led the Carolina Panthers’ offense before his termination in late 2021.

Having a shared history with McDermott from their college days at William & Mary, Brady was the first candidate interviewed for the Bills’ head coaching position. The team, under general manager Brandon Beane, conducted an extensive search that included discussions with nine candidates. Brady’s coaching philosophy emphasized a more balanced offense to support Allen, introducing a collaborative passing strategy dubbed “Everybody Eats.”

During his tenure, the Bills’ offense excelled, ranking fourth in the NFL in total yards and scoring. Notably, running back James Cook led the league in rushing yards, marking a significant achievement for the team. With Brady now at the helm, the Bills aim to overcome playoff hurdles and reach new heights in the postseason.

Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers have appointed Mike McCarthy as their new head coach, succeeding Mike Tomlin. A Pittsburgh native, McCarthy brings a wealth of experience from his previous coaching stints with the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys. His impressive coaching record includes a Super Bowl victory over the Steelers in the 2010 season. McCarthy’s return to his hometown signifies a new chapter for the Steelers, who are seeking a resurgence after recent playoff disappointments and Tomlin’s departure.

The Steelers, known for their longstanding success in the NFL, are eager to revitalize their playoff performance and build on their legacy under McCarthy’s leadership.
