The 78th Annual Emmy Awards were held on September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. This year, the red carpet’s unique blue color paid homage to NBC’s 100th anniversary and its iconic peacock logo. Hosted by Mariska Hargitay, the event honored excellence in television, with “Widow’s Bay” standing out as the night’s big winner, securing a total of 14 Emmys, including the coveted Outstanding Comedy Series award.

Among the other winners were “The Pitt,” winning Outstanding Drama Series for the second consecutive year, and “DTF St. Louis,” which received the award for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Notable individual wins included Noah Wyle for lead actor in a drama, Rhea Seehorn for lead actress in a drama, and Jean Smart for lead actress in a comedy, marking her fifth consecutive win in the category. Matthew Rhys had a successful night, clinching awards for lead actor in a comedy series and lead actor in a limited series or movie.

The ceremony featured touching tributes, including a Dolly Parton homage led by Reba McEntire and a performance of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Noah Kahan. Stars from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Charlie’s Angels” also reunited to celebrate the anniversaries of their iconic shows.

In addition to the awards, the spotlight was on the fashionable outfits gracing the blue carpet this year. Some standout looks included Supriya Ganesh in a pale blue McQueen gown, Matty Matheson in a classic tuxedo, and Lisa Rinna in a striking black gown by Lever Couture. Grace Gummer turned heads in a black pleated Dior dress, while Joy Sunday dazzled in an off-white embellished gown by Dior. Other stars like Noah Kahan, Colman Domingo, and Lukita Maxwell also made stylish appearances in unique ensembles.

Celebrities like Zendaya, Selena Gomez, Nicole Kidman, and Florence Pugh showcased their fashion flair in stunning designer outfits. Riz Ahmed opted for a statement blue-grey suit, while Emilia Clarke exuded elegance in a pale pink gown with a dramatic cape. The event also saw Claire Danes in a sculptural silver dress and Dan Levy in a custom Celine tuxedo, paying tribute to his late co-star Catherine O’Hara from “Schitt’s Creek.”
