A tragic incident unfolded in Ottawa’s Overbrook neighborhood when a child was struck by a truck on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in their death. First responders rushed to the scene on Presland Road near Lola Street following a distress call at approximately 3:40 p.m.
According to Ottawa police, the victim, a child under 10 years old, was hit by a dump truck. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by the responding officers, the child succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. Fortunately, no other individuals were harmed in the incident, and no further details about the young victim have been disclosed.
Authorities are now urging any witnesses with information or footage of the incident to come forward. The tragic collision occurred in a residential area situated about four kilometers to the east of the city’s central district.
