Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his fellow Artemis II crew members were warmly welcomed at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) headquarters following their historic journey to the far side of the moon. Hansen expressed gratitude to the individuals present, acknowledging their crucial role in the mission’s success.
The 10-day expedition led by Hansen, mission commander Reid Wiseman, and astronauts Victor Glover and Christina Koch set a new record as they ventured further away from Earth than any previous human mission. Koch highlighted the connection she and Glover share with Canada, having undergone training there, making the CSA a familiar and welcoming place for them.
During their visit, the crew engaged with Industry Minister Mélanie Joly, the public, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jenni Gibbons, who was part of the NASA Mission Control Center team. Wiseman emphasized the diverse perspectives brought by the international composition of the Artemis II crew, emphasizing how this unity strengthened the mission and fostered global collaboration.
