Police authorities in York Region issued a public warning following yet another coyote incident in Markham, Ontario, on Sunday. The incident involved a child being bitten on the head by a coyote in a park near Roy Rainey and Bur Oak avenues at approximately 7:30 p.m. The child, aged around five, was promptly taken to the hospital, with the bite being non-life-threatening.

In light of recent events, authorities emphasized caution for residents frequenting parks in the vicinity of McCowan Road and 16th Avenue in Markham. Just last week, a similar incident occurred where a 16-year-old girl was bitten by a coyote in the area of Mingay and Bur Oak avenues, sustaining minor injuries that required hospital treatment.

Police reiterated the importance of vigilance, advising the public to maintain a safe distance from wildlife and avoid approaching or attempting to feed coyotes to prevent incidents.
