Justin Baldoni, the lead actor and director of the movie “It Ends With Us,” recently addressed the ongoing conflict between himself and co-star Blake Lively. In a video shared on his official Instagram account, Baldoni, alongside his wife Emily Baldoni, expressed their gratitude to fans for their support during a challenging period of healing. They acknowledged the painful events that unfolded over the past few years but emphasized their commitment to allowing the justice system to run its course to reveal the truth.

The couple reflected on the difficulties they faced and questioned the circumstances that led to the situation, particularly in the context of advocating for women’s rights. Lively, married to Vancouver-born actor Ryan Reynolds, had accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and launched a $250 million defamation lawsuit against him and his production company. In response, Baldoni filed a $400 million libel suit against Lively, Reynolds, their publicist, and The New York Times, which published details of Lively’s allegations.

Legal proceedings followed, with a New York judge dismissing both parties’ claims at different stages. Ultimately, Lively and Baldoni agreed to settle the civil case just before the trial was set to begin. They released a joint statement, expressing their desire for closure and a positive way forward. Although the terms of the settlement were undisclosed, Lively was awarded legal fees under California law.

“It Ends With Us,” based on a novel by Colleen Hoover, explores the theme of an abusive relationship between a florist (Lively) and a neurosurgeon (Baldoni). Despite the tumultuous legal battle, the film was a commercial success, grossing over $350 million globally and ranking as the 20th highest-grossing movie of 2024.

While the Baldonis have hinted at sharing more insights in the future, Lively has refrained from public reactions following the video. Her most recent social media post highlighted the impact of digital violence and the dangers of online retaliation. The unfolding of events surrounding the legal dispute has garnered significant attention, raising awareness about the complexities of such conflicts in the entertainment industry.
