Drake to Host Exclusive Apology Event for Individuals Named Janice
Drake has extended an olive branch to individuals named Janice who may have felt targeted by his song “Janice STFU.” The Toronto-born rapper is set to host a special apology event exclusively for individuals named Janice in select cities.
In a recent Instagram post, Drake announced the upcoming Janices-only party, inviting Janices from New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto, and Houston. Physical invitations have been sent out to Janices in Toronto as a formal gesture of apology.
To attend the event, individuals must provide government-issued photo ID confirming that their legal first name is Janice. The event stems from Drake’s chart-topping single “Janice STFU” from his album “ICEMAN.”
The song made history by debuting at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, marking Drake’s 14th chart-topping hit and surpassing Michael Jackson’s record for the most No. 1 hits by a male solo artist.
The exclusive event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 28, at the Cactus Club on Adelaide St. in Toronto. Janices who have not received invitations can RSVP by emailing JSTFU@DRAKERELATED.COM.
Drake’s recent triple-album release, including “ICEMAN,” “Habibti,” and “Maid of Honour,” saw 42 songs charting on the Hot 100, with “Maid of Honour” and “Habibti” also debuting at the top of the Billboard Global 200.
