Céline Dion’s 58th birthday celebration includes a special treat for her devoted fans as she announces her comeback to the concert stage. In a video shared on her Instagram on Monday, Dion disclosed her plans to perform two shows per week from Sept. 12 to Oct. 14 in Paris at the La Défense Arena, which can accommodate up to 40,000 spectators. Expressing her excitement, she revealed that keeping this news under wraps has been challenging and that returning to the stage in Paris is the best gift she could ask for on her birthday.

The presale for tickets will kick off on April 7, followed by general ticket sales starting on April 10. This announcement comes after Dion had to cancel her Courage World Tour dates in 2022 due to her battle with stiff person syndrome, a condition that affected her singing ability and led to the tour’s cancellation in 2023. Following the pandemic-related postponement in 2020, Dion made a public singing return in July 2024 at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony with Edith Piaf’s Hymn to Love and later at a fashion show in Riyadh in November of the same year.

Expressing her gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support during her health challenges, Dion acknowledged their profound impact on her journey. Catherine Pearson, a Dion tribute artist, described the news of the upcoming concerts as a blessing for fans worldwide, emphasizing their anticipation to see Dion perform live again after a long wait.

Hints of Dion’s return had been circulating recently, with posters featuring her lyrics and song titles appearing across Paris, sparking excitement among her fans. Additionally, a nighttime rehearsal video broadcast by France’s BFMTV showed the Eiffel Tower illuminated with messages hinting at Dion’s imminent return to the stage in Paris.

Dion’s Instagram account teased the announcement with a series of photos taken in Paris over the years, building anticipation among her followers. The account was cleared before the video message unveiling the Paris concerts was posted. The celebration of Dion’s return was marked with a light show at the Eiffel Tower, where fans gathered to enjoy her hit songs playing at Trocadero Square.

In a candid interview with CBC News, Dion discussed her battle with stiff person syndrome and her determination to sing again despite the challenges posed by the rare neurological disorder. Dr. Scott Newsome, a neurologist at Johns Hopkins Stiff Person Syndrome Centre, highlighted the progressive nature of the condition and its impact on muscle rigidity and balance. Dion’s perseverance and resilience in the face of her health struggles resonate with her fans, who eagerly await her triumphant return to the concert stage in Paris this fall.
