The Torrent, an expansion team, set a franchise record with six goals in a single game, matching the highest scoring game of the Professional Women’s Hockey League season with a total of 10 goals. In a high-scoring match, Jessie Eldridge and Hannah Bilka contributed with a goal and two assists, and a goal and an assist respectively for Seattle. Other scorers for the Torrent included Hilary Knight, Julia Gosling, and Megan Carter, who notched her first career goal as a Seattle defender. Goalkeeper Corinne Schroeder made 31 saves to secure the win.
For the Toronto Sceptres, Blayre Turnbull, Jesse Compher, Kali Flanagan, and Natalie Spooner found the back of the net. Turnbull and Compher gave Toronto an early 2-0 lead, with Flanagan later adding a goal to tie the game at 3-3. Despite their efforts, the Sceptres fell short as Seattle emerged victorious.
