New cases of tuberculosis have been detected in northern Labrador, as reported by the health authority of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Nunatsiavut government. The outbreak is concentrated within the Labrador Inuit Settlement area, encompassing communities such as Rigolet, Makkovik, Postville, Hopedale, and Nain. It is advised that individuals exhibiting such symptoms seek immediate medical assessment. Contacts of individuals diagnosed with tuberculosis are encouraged to undergo testing, with treatment options available locally.
