Ciara Carl and Brian Lankton are the newest additions to the coaching staff of the Toronto Tempo, as confirmed by the WNBA team on Thursday. Both Carl and Lankton boast extensive experience spanning over ten years in various basketball leagues such as the NBA, G-League, WNBA, and NCAA. They will be reporting to Tempo’s head coach Sandy Brondello and will play key roles in team preparation and performance, focusing on player development, advanced scouting, and on-court strategy.
Carl transitions to the Tempo from the Phoenix Mercury, where she held the position of assistant coach and head video coordinator since 2023. On the other hand, Lankton previously worked as the head video coordinator and player development coach for the New York Liberty between 2023 and 2025, a period that included the team’s successful 2024 WNBA championship season.
The Toronto Tempo is gearing up for its maiden WNBA season this summer.
