Blue Jays standout Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is in contention for his second consecutive Silver Slugger award. Major League Baseball unveiled the finalists for the prestigious accolades recognizing the top offensive performers at each position in both leagues. Alongside Guerrero, Toronto’s shortstop Bo Bichette and designated hitter George Springer have also been named as finalists.
The winners of the Silver Slugger awards, determined through votes from Major League managers and coaches excluding their own players, are set to be revealed on November 7. Guerrero, who secured the AL first base award in 2021, showcased an impressive performance by batting .292, hitting 23 home runs, and driving in 93 runs while only striking out 94 times in 589 at-bats.
Despite missing the final three weeks of the regular season due to a knee sprain, Bichette ranked second in the majors with 181 hits. He boasted a .311 batting average, along with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs. Springer, aiming for his third Silver Slugger award and first since 2019, had a stellar comeback season in 2025. The 36-year-old achieved a career-best batting average of .309, coupled with 32 home runs and 84 RBIs.
