Taylor Swift has claimed the top spot on Spotify’s list of most streamed artists of all time, which was released on Thursday. Following closely behind is Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican sensation. In 2025, Bad Bunny surpassed Swift to become the most played artist of the year for the fourth time, after she held the title in the previous two years. The rivalry between the two artists has seen them exchange the top spot back and forth, with Bad Bunny reigning from 2020 to 2023.
Drake secures the third position as Spotify’s most streamed artist, with The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, and others following in the rankings. Spotify did not disclose details about its data collection process when questioned by The Associated Press.
In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Spotify has also highlighted its most streamed albums, songs, podcasts, and audiobooks. Streaming plays a significant role in the music industry’s revenue, constituting 82% of the total in the U.S., according to the Recording Industry Association of America.
Founded in April 2006 in Sweden, Spotify stands as the largest music platform globally, commanding over 31% of the market share. The platform boasts 751 million users and 290 million subscribers across 184 markets.
Among Spotify’s most streamed albums are “Un Verano Sin Ti” by Bad Bunny, “Starboy” by The Weeknd, and “÷ (Deluxe)” by Ed Sheeran. The most streamed songs include hits like “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd, “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran, and “Sweater Weather” by The Neighbourhood, among others.
