Justin Bieber made history at the American Music Awards by clinching his fifth win for best male pop artist. The Canadian singer-songwriter, a native of Stratford, Ontario, had previously secured this accolade four times, starting from his initial victory in 2010 when the award was known as favorite pop/rock male artist.

At this year’s ceremony in Las Vegas, Bieber was nominated for four awards, including artist of the year and album of the year for his latest album “Swag.” With this recent triumph, Bieber’s tally now stands at 19 American Music Awards, placing him on par with the late Kenny Rogers for the second-highest number of wins by a male artist. The top spot is still held by the late Michael Jackson, who boasts 24 awards.

Justin Bieber made a remarkable return to the stage last month at Coachella, where he headlined a concert, marking his comeback after cancelling a tour in 2022 due to health issues related to Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

Other notable winners at the awards ceremony included BTS, who secured artist of the year, and Sabrina Carpenter, who clinched album of the year.
