The banter between Toronto and Seattle escalated as Seattle’s hockey squad playfully taunted Toronto Blue Jays supporters on Saturday. The Seattle Kraken made a notable entrance at Scotiabank Arena donning Seattle Mariners jerseys, showing support for the city’s baseball team gearing up for Game 6 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) against the Jays.
In addition to their jersey choice, the Kraken took the teasing to social media with posts like “walk in the 6ix, takeover the 6ix” and “SEATTLE OVER EVERYBODY.”
Following this playful move, the team triumphed over the Maple Leafs with a 4-3 victory on the ice. The Mariners currently lead the best-of-seven series 3-2 after a strong offensive display secured a 6-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 5 on Friday.
The Blue Jays are set to face Seattle once more on Sunday night for a crucial Game 6 at Rogers Centre.
