Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer is recovering well after being hit by a pitch in Game 5 of the American League Championship Series. Manager John Schneider confirmed that Springer underwent a CT scan, which showed no serious injury, just a contusion on his right knee. Despite the scare, Springer is feeling much improved and is expected to participate in team activities to test his readiness for the upcoming critical Game 6 against the Seattle Mariners.

During the incident, Springer, 36, took a pitch to the knee and had to leave the game. However, with treatment and rest, he is on track for potential participation in the next game. Schneider emphasized Springer’s toughness and expressed optimism about his ability to return to play.

Meanwhile, shortstop Bo Bichette, who has been dealing with an injury, is progressing positively in his recovery. Bichette has been focusing on improving his swing and may soon start running the bases to assess his readiness for future games. Bichette, known for his impressive batting average, has been sidelined since a collision in early September.

The Toronto Blue Jays are facing a challenging situation as they trail the best-of-seven series 3-2 to the Seattle Mariners, who have dominated in the previous games held in Toronto. As the team prepares for Game 6, the status of key players like Springer and Bichette remains crucial for their postseason aspirations.
