The Canadian Screen Awards week has begun with the announcement of the Children’s Television Awards winners at the initial ceremony in Toronto. The event showcased 16 recipients in various categories.
Josette Jorge claimed the Canadian Screen Award for Best supporting performer in children’s or youth entertainment for her role in “The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia.”
The award for Best writing in the pre-school genre was presented to “Toopy and Binoo Fabulous Adventures – Giggling Flufferoos,” while “Thomas & Friends: The Christmas Letter Express” secured the Best original music in animation accolade.
Will Arnett received the Best voice performance award for “Super Team Canada.” Additionally, “Old Enough! – Where’s The Ginger, Please?” won for Best picture editing in children’s or youth productions, and “Macy Murdoch – Tick, Tick, Gone” earned the Best direction award in the same category.
“The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia – What is Happening to Me?!” was recognized with the Best writing award in children’s or youth content, and “Unicorn Academy – Winter Solstice” won for Best sound in animation. “Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum – I am Jackie Robinson” was victorious in both the Best writing and Best direction categories for animation.
The Canada Media Fund kids’ choice award went to “Mittens & Pants,” while “Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood” was honored as the Best pre-school program or series. “Odd Squad” clinched two awards for Best lead performer in children’s or youth entertainment, awarded to Asha Soetan, and for Best children’s or youth fiction program or series.
“Super Team Canada” received two accolades for Best animated program or series and Best voice performance for Will Arnett. The event celebrated the diverse talent and creativity within the Canadian television industry.
