Alberta police reported an incident where a delivery person trying to deliver household appliances was attacked and threatened with a rifle. The altercation occurred on December 4 at a rural property near Sundre in central Alberta.
According to Cpl. Gina Slaney, the delivery driver mistakenly went to the wrong address and parked his truck by the roadside before contacting the customer. When the customer arrived and provided a new address, the driver explained that changing the delivery location required following proper procedures.
The situation quickly turned hostile when the customer allegedly assaulted the driver and later brandished a rifle, threatening the driver’s life unless the appliances were placed where he demanded. The delivery driver managed to escape unharmed in his truck.
Following the incident, a 31-year-old resident of Sundre was arrested at his residence, where the police confiscated 16 firearms and a significant amount of ammunition. The suspect is now facing multiple charges, including assault and extortion involving a firearm.
