Several lanes and ramps on Highway 417 will undergo closure this upcoming weekend as part of the ongoing construction project to replace the Preston, Rochester, and Booth Street bridges. The closures are scheduled to commence on Friday night and are anticipated to last until around 5 a.m. on Monday.
Throughout the weekend, the left lane of Highway 417 eastbound from the O-Train to Bronson Avenue will be closed continuously. Additionally, the center lane within that section will also experience nightly closures. On the westbound side, the right lane of Highway 417 will be closed from O’Connor to Bronson.
Furthermore, the closures will affect the eastbound Parkdale on-ramp, eastbound Rochester off-ramp, and westbound Bronson off-ramps. The Kiewit Dufferin Midtown Partnership, the company responsible for the bridge and noise barrier replacements along the highway, stated in a press release that these closures are necessary to facilitate the transport of concrete slabs, excavation activities, asphalt paving, line painting, and drainage enhancements.
